Announcing The Seckler Big 4-0!!

Benjy vs. Trace

This may not sound right, but at the heart of our marriage lies the true spirit of competition. Maybe it’s because we are both the youngest of big families and we feel a need to prove ourselves. For whatever reason, every trip to the dentist is accompanied by more than the usual trepidation, as either of us could fall behind in the “I have healthier teeth” contest (currently tied with one cavity each). God forbid we should ever run into Harvard classmate Matt Damon, and finally settle favorite rivalry: “If we were walking down the street and we bumped into Matt Damon, whom would he recognize first?” (Answer: 99% likelihood he would walk right past us, but it’s fun to argue!)

In this spirit, we invite all of our relatives, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and supporters to participate in THE SECKLER BIG 4-0, a new competition between the two of us in honor of our upcoming birthdays. Tracy turns 40 on Feb 11, and Benjy follows suit Mar 5. Please consider making a donation to Charley’s Fund in honor of one of our birthdays (or both). This competition has two categories so we can save face if need be. Hopefully we’ll each win one category and no blowout fights will ensue! A winner will be announced for:

#1: Most donations
#2: Most money collected

If you’re not sure whose side you’re on, make a donation in honor of both of us and we will each get credit for your contribution. Results will be tallied on March 31 and we will let you know who won!

We are lucky that we don’t need any gifts for our birthdays. The only gift we desire is the gift of life for our little boy.
