After viewing the documentary film Darius Goes West, members of a leadership group at Cambie Secondary school in British Columbia wanted to do something to help find a cure for DMD. A teen at the school has Duchenne so the cause is especially close to home. Aiming for something more unusual than a lemonade stand or bake sale, the group held a Wake-A-Thon. The students collected pledges from around the community and then stayed up all night! This wacky approach proved quite successful…the group raised a total of $5,200 for Charley’s Fund and two other charities. Thank you Cambie Secondary and please, get some rest!!
