Overly competitive high school students get a bad rap, but we couldn’t have been happier when two student bodies in Berkshire County went head to head! Student leaders at Mount Everett and Monument Mountain challenged each other to a duel: which school could raise more money for Charley’s Fund in a one-month period? Monument raised the most money as a group, while Mount Everett took the prize for “funds raised per capita.” Top honors go to Jack Gibson of Monument Mountain and Maya Neski of Mount Everett, who came in first place in their respective schools. But the real winners are Charley and all kids with Duchenne, who – thanks to these new hall-of-famers — now have another $2,808 being put to work on their behalf.
